Athletics

We are pleased to offer our students interscholastic athletic competition to round out their education. We believe that participation in sports strengthens the mind as well as the body, develops leadership skills, and teaches critical social skills.

Bring It On!

Flag football, cross country, and girls volleyball teams have not only come back—they are fired up! More than 50 of our fourth through eighth graders are participating in sports this year. Our coaches are doing an amazing job teaching, motivating, and challenging our athletes to do their best. If you haven’t been to a game, please come out and help cheer our teams on. Games are always free, and we welcome everyone!

We offer:

  • Cross Country
  • Flag Football
  • Volleyball
  • Basketball
  • Baseball
  • Soccer
  • Softball
  • Track

Eligibility

Academic Eligibility Requirements

The student must pass all classes and not carry any "unsatisfactory" or "incomplete" grades, and the student must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Attendance Boundaries

The student athlete must live within the school attendance area. If the student athlete does not live in the attendance area, they must have an approved open enrollment form on file and meet additional requirements set forth by the Arizona Interscholastic Association. See the school or district athletic director for further information.

Charter or Private Schools

Charter or private school students are not eligible to participate in athletics for any other school. They are only eligible at the school they attend. If the sport is not offered at their school, they are still not eligible to participate at any other school. This is an Arizona Interscholastic Association bylaw.

Home School

Home-schooled students must be registered with the Santa Cruz County School superintendent. If registered, home-schooled students are eligible in the school district in which they reside. Home-schooled students must meet all other conditions of athletic eligibility including academic requirements. Contact the athletic director for a home-schooled athlete packet.

Sports and the Six Pillars of  Character

We believe that the highest potential of sports is achieved when participants are committed to pursuing victory with honor according to the six core principles:

  • Trustworthiness
  • Respect
  • Responsibility
  • Fairness
  • Caring
  • Citizenship
