The Parents-Teachers Club (PTC) is an active organization within the Elgin School Community, working hard to contribute to the growth, development, and enrichment of the students of Elgin School.  Working with the Superintendent, we are responsible for sponsoring many annual events as well as large purchases.  Last year’s major fundraising efforts went to the purchase of a Yamaha upright piano for our music program.  For the next two years we are putting our efforts into raising money for additional playground equipment.

Membership
All parents or legal guardians of Elgin School students and all staff members of Elgin School are automatically members of the PTC.  Members are encouraged to attend the monthly meetings and participate in at least one fundraising or PTC sponsored event per year.

Income
The PTC’s income for sponsoring events is based on annual fundraising events, such as the Fall Harvest Bake Sale, working at the Santa Cruz County Fair education area, the Valentine’s Day bake sale, selling concessions at sports games, holiday basket auction, and more.

Large purchase items are paid for through separate fundraisers, with all money earned going to that purchase.  Those fundraisers vary depending on the cost of the item and the ideas of the members.

Officers
Elections of officers are made on the basis of majority vote of the members in attendance of the PTC meeting.  A minimum of two officers is needed to efficiently run the PTC.
